Status PLEASE READ

HELLO ALIENS!!!!!

Hi, so here's a new feature i've been working on for a while and i need your help deciding what status uses should use to state their current status for an entry.

For ex. "Watched, Dropped, Watching"

Anyway, here's what animePlanet has

Watched
Watching
Want to watch
Stalled
Dropped
Won't Watch

The most definite things we can take are most likely:

Watched
Watching
Dropped

Want to watch

I want to exclude "want to watch" because i think that is a useless status that can be named and used as a different function. Maybe a flag feature where you can flag an anime entry to watch later. Like everything you visit OC, we'll remind you that you WANT TO WATCH IT, WATCH IT NOW. Cause we tend to forget what we mark to watch for later ya know?

Or... a wish list o.o iono i think thats the same thing.

Stalled

?

what if about... if you don't visit the site to update that specific title it'll automatically get changed to stalled? And we'll keep nagging you to update the status! iono that sounds hard but i think it'll work out.

Won't Watch? -> Not interested

Anything else?

Sidenote:
I've been thinking of adding a queue like what Netflix and Hulu does but for anime, mangas and dramas. As the the episodes or volumes gets released to the public either by Japanese TV show or by dubs that episode of that entry will be added to your queue? Dam that sounds shitty hard haha, I'll try my best!:Sticking Out Tongue

i mean more options are good for ppl who like organizing their stuff alot. I think tho that watched watching and dropped are pretty much the ones u need.

You could make an "Undecided" option, but that's the only thing I can think of.

If you're undecided, that doesn't necessarily mean that you'll still want to watch it.

imo, that sounds dull. A want to watch is way better than that, though that is also unnecessary... Its just a pain to code

How can an option be "dull?"

My reasoning for "Undecided" is, a person MAY want to watch it, or they MAY NOT. For EXAMPLE: Let's say that I have an anime listed under "Undecided." After wards someone else trots along and either recommends that I should watch it, or tells me it's an anime I should avoid.

That is MY purpose of the "Undecided" option.

Now, you could think up of some other system to have people recommend others to watch or avoid animes, but that would be more work; and we're trying to minimize the work load, aren't we?

I think if they are undecided they won't even tag it. If they were interested even a little bit they might decide to mark it as want to watch.

I guess its a cross between: Want to watch and don't want to watch.

I agree that those three are important, and wouldn't really mind if there weren't any other, but I like the idea of tagging a title and possibly coming back to it!

well an undecided does make some sense.. it's not the same thing as "want to watch" in my opinion. Im gonna have to agree with super here, but like he said, its only an opinion

I agree what you, undecided is the same as not choosing an option at all. all anime I havent heard of till now are anime I'll either want to watch or not.
Undecided is a useless option, just put it in your want to wtch list and decide later wether to watch it or not.

If you cant rember what your watching then clearly your not enjoying it.

I dont see the point in this, but what ever floats your boat. Its not a bad idea though, but keep droped out. why would anyone want to rember something they wasted there time on? same with undesided. why would want to clog up my list with animes i MIGHT watch. i would have hundreads in that pointless list if that were the case.

i see you havent watched anime for a while then? when you hit 150 animes+ watched and counting, or watched animes over a span of many years you tend to forget some of the "not so good, but decent" animes you watched at the start. So, you find it again, and think: "hey, this sounds interesting, though there is something familiar", and then start watching it. Watching 2-3 episodes and figuring out you've seen it before aint fun... just saying

i agree, as i have mentioned, Undecided is a pointless option...
