When a nearby construction project reveals a series of old markers, he goes to investigate. He discovers plenty of tayutai, and returns with his childhood friends Ameri and Sankurou.
When he performs the exorcism, a strong tayutai and local goddess Mikami-no-hime Kikura appears, explaining that the markers keep the tayutai at bay. Three evil tayutai, who disagree with Kikura's approach to coexisting with humans, also awaken and cause Ameri's bike to crash into the stones. They crack, and in a last ditch effort, Kikura throws her power into creating a child-like personification. She takes care of the smaller tayutai but isn't powerful enough to battle the three large, shadow-like ones. She passes out and so Yuuri takes her back to the shrine.
Due to the difference in power, the child says that she is not the same as the goddess and needs a name, Yuuri names her Mashiro after the marshmallows she's eating. She immediately takes a liking to him and makes him promise to marry her when she grows up. The next morning, her power is restored, and she is in an adult size body. She claims that now Yuuri and her are husband and wife.
